Essert-Romand is a small village located in between Thonon les Bains and Morzine, in between Saint Jean d’Aulps and Morzine to be precise. This village is ideal if you a looking for somewhere quiet not too far away from the ski slopes, it is also in an ideal location for people looking for a balanced holiday between skiing and relaxing.
In the heart of the village you will find a restaurant open all year round. The closest shops are the ones in Saint Jean d’Aulps, (bars, restaurants, food shops), book shop, chemist, bakeries, sport shops, ski school...).
In the winter, the closest ski slopes are the ones in Saint Jean d’Aulps (La Grande Terche) or in Morzine (Le Pléney) as the village is situated right in the middle of the two resorts. There is about 5-10 minutes by car to get to each of these ski resorts. The resorts of Les Gets and Avoriaz are also accessible from the Pléney. These resorts are part of the Portes du Soleil which opens onto Switzerland.
In the summer the village offer a number of possibilities of family trails such as l’alpage de Graydon, or fun activities such as the summer toboggan, mountain biking, canoeing, or stand up paddling at the Montriond Lake. In 30 minutes you can also get to the beaches in Thonon les Bains or Excenevex on the way to Geneva (airport) which is about an hour and 25 minutes away by car.
In the winter as well as in the summer a bus goes through every village in the valley, granting easy access to the different resorts.
